Control on ship standards sector

 Duties of Control on ship standards sector

1. Organize control for ships structure standards;
2. Ensure application of scientific and technical accomplishment in the appropriate field taking into account the advanced international practice;
3. Control for implementation of appropriate regulations on prevention of collision of ships at sea and use of disaster signals (SOS);
4. Within it’s authority, to participate at investigation of marine casualties and ensure registration of the mentioned casualties;
5. Make registration in State ships register on ownership to ship and other property rights as well as limitation of right to it;
6. Carry out control for load line;
7. Carry out control for security of registered fishing vessels;
8. Survey the compliance of ships and objects of maritime transport field with the requirements of the International Conventions and issue certificates in this regard;
9. Survey of ships in accordance with survey regulations, international requirements and standards;
10. In accordance with ship masters’ appeals and requirements of the International Conventions, ensure giving corresponding consents with regard to sailing periods and other appeals.
10. Carry out the State registration and State registry of the ships flying the flag of the Republic of Azerbaijan (with the exception of small-sized vessels) in accordance with legislation as well as issue of ship documents;
11. Control for functions of classification societies carrying out activity in the Republic of Azerbaijan;
